STEP 3.
STEP 4.
NOTE:
If your computer does not have Windows SQL Server installed the Installer will automatically download the required components from Microsoft. This portion of the installation might take some time so please be patient.
If you have any trouble downloading or installing InspectX please call us at (561) 600-0098 and we would be happy to assist.
STEP 6.
Click FINISH.
You will notice that two InspectX launch icons have been installed on your desktop.
IMPORTANT NOTE
After the installation InspectX should automatically startup in your systems browser.
The Icon shown to the left will open InspectX in your system's default browser. This is our preferred viewing option when opening InspectX on a desktop computer and still provides full access to your browser's plug-ins and other features.
The Icon shown to the left labeled 'Kiosk Mode' is pre-configured to open Internet Explorer in Kiosk (Full Screen) Mode. This is our preferred viewing option when opening InspectX on a tablet computer.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
You can exit Kiosk Mode on your touchscreen by swiping from the left edge of your tablet's screen.
To exit Kiosk Mode from your desktop you will have to use one of the following key combinations on your keyboard:
Win + D - this will show Desktop (repeat to return to full screen mode).
Win + M - this will show minimize Kiosk Mode.
Alt + F4 - this will close the browser window.
STEP 5.
At this point you have a blank version of InspectX and you can either begin adding Categories and Headings manually or import a preconfigured Configuration File.
The specific names and arrangement of Categories, Sub-Categories, Headings and all Quick Insert Option Text are stored within the Configuration File.
Navigate to the default InspectX directory on your computer.
This is usually located in:
C:\Program Files\InspectX\Configuration Files
or
C:\Program Files (86)\InspectX\Configuration Files
and from within this folder select one of the pre-created Configuration Templates.
For the majority of cases, we recommend selecting "Yacht & Small Craft Survey"
STEP 7.
Enter Configuration Mode.
Open the main menu at the top left of the InspectX page.
NOTE
At the top of the Configuration Mode page select Import Configuration From File (the green import arrow).
Press the 'Select File' button on the window that opens.
Select the File and Click/Press Import from the subsequent window.
STEP 8.
With the Configuration File installed you will notice the new categories and headings below each topic, however, the category line at the top of the page is displayed as a single row which most likely requires left/right scrolling to view all of the items.
To adjust this we will make this change in Settings Mode.
Open the menu at the top left of the page.
NOTE
Enter Settings Mode.
In Settings Mode, select the Interface tab at the top.
STEP 9.
Change the "Category Rows To Display" to 2 Rows.
Click/Press SAVE at the top of the page.
NOTE
At this point an error message will be displayed which requires a Company Name to be entered.
Click/Press CLOSE to automatically go the the Organization tab.
Enter an Organization Name (your company name).
Click/Press SAVE at the top of the page, and EXIT.
STEP 10.
Open the menu at the top left of the page.
EXIT Configuration Mode.
InspectX is now configured and ready for personalized adjustment as you want.
